Formerly conducted by wooden canoe, Lake Victoria saw many drownings and the constant threat of hippos to the commuting public. With the introduction of our catamarans, transportation has come safe, insured, reliable and even comfortable.

Due to great fuel efficiency and operating on routes where many traditional ferry vessels wouldn’t be able to sail, Waterbus ferry services have transformed the lives of many living on the shores of the lake. The potential to replicate the model elsewhere is substantial.

OUR VESSELS WERE BUILT BY GLOBOLOGY SHIPYARDS IN KENYA
Globology is a shipyard based in Kisumu. With a team of local employees and in partnership with the award winning global experts from Dykstra Naval architects catamaran ferries are built on the shores of Lake Victoria. All ferries operated by Waterbus have been built by Globology.
