engineers Responsibilities

• Ensure Safety on Board

• Ensure that all equipment is maintained, serviced and in full working order

• Ensure full compliance with company policies

• Ensure that all engineering tasks do no harm to the Environment

• Ensuring that safe practices are followed

• The safe and efficient operation of the engine room machinery

• Checking and testing all equipment on board

• Keeping proper reports of repairs and maintenance performed and ensuring efficient use of spares

• Keeping proper record keeping and adequate supplies of spare parts and tools are on board

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and equipment cleanliness

• Familiarization of new engineering personnel with the power plant and fire-fighting arrangement

• Maintenance of all Safety and Environment related equipment and devices.

• Carrying out general Ships maintenance or repair works with the deck crew as agreed with the Master.

• Assisting in Ships painting, provisioning, shore loading, and tank inspection and repair if necessary

• Supervise the daily underwater inspection of rudders and propellers
